Skip class

So today i skipped class..when to JB last night for a quick late supper with wife and kid,and back very late..yesterday's topic was so dry, that it made me sleep.

Wassup with HDB? so many rules and regulations, it's almost impossible to keep up with them! I really wonder do the agents all know what HDB rules are?

No wonder agents get paid well, just to know all these info :)

Next step in my career..Real Estate

It has been a long time since i wrote here, except for a few movie reviews. I am very excited to announce my move in Real Estate. A lot of people, including my sister, gave an unprecedented support, because they said, "It's about TIME!"

Haha...

It's not that I have not thought about it. The 3 bastion of sales which is Insurance, Car sales and Real estate, beckoned me for the longest time. I tried insurance but couldn't get past M9 paper. I tried going into car sales, but backed out because of the low low wages(you might think they get paid alot, but NO)..and i have always wanted to try Real Estate, because of the pure love of things associated with it..No,money is only secondary, but the thrill of getting a new house;the interior decor;and a good buy. I just didn't meet the right mentor, until now.

So, finally getting into something i love also, and am looking forward to investing in realty as well..eventually at least.

Thank God, for His wisdom, and timing

So visit my site, and please follow my blog for latest news on the real estate scene here http://property-dad.com

Movie Review: My Name Is Khan

Shah Rukh Khan's movie will invite so big an expectation, you will be hardly disappointed. It's about a guy with Asperger's Syndrome, on a journey to tell POTUS that he's not a terrorist. This is a post 9-11 plot cleverly woven by Karan Johar, to talk about the plight of Muslims, without being too political.

Kajol is exceptional in her acting. But sad to say, for some who has been much exposed to method acting of Dustin Hoffman in Rainman,or even Jerry from the Boston Legal series who has AS,SRK's acting is really not that fantastic. He could have done some more homework on his acting, but safe to say, SRK can still carry the movie, for those who are not aware of this condition."Condition" seems to be a bad word,or lack of a better word, because people who are autistic are exceptionally very intelligent. It's the certain peculiarities that set them apart. SRK manage to capture that essence in certain scenes, but not throughout the whole movie.

Otherwise, I would give it a perfect 5..just for the sake of having the SRK-Kajol-Karan Johar team, i give it a 4*

When you 1st fail,try..then try again

Today as i brought my son to school today, i left him at a distance from the gate. He didn't know that I was still there, as he made his usual small calculated strides. He then reached a ledge thats is about a third of his body length. Normally he uses the ramp to go over the ledge. Most kids just walk over the ledge. But Ryan is different.

Ryan only started to walk when he was two. As such his motor skills developed late.Kids his age run and jump, but he makes calculated moves, being very careful not to fall.Coming back today,I looked at his 1st try. He raised his leg,but couldn't reach the top of it. He then moved to the ramp, but just paused there for awhile. Then he went back to the same place, and watched how the other kids did.

He tried again, this time almost reaching, but almost lost his balance. Just then when I thought he would go back to the ramp, he did what i thought no normal kids will do. He went on all fours, with his heavy backpack and all, literally climbed over the ledge. And a victorious and a proud smile erupted. All this he did, not realising that I was watching him. A tear unconsciously rolled over my cheek.

This may not mean to many people. Afterall, this is such a simple act. But if you see your child struggling to do a simple act, it can break your heart. But this tear was a testament that he is in His good hands. I have always asked God that a kindred spirit can take him under his wings, and groom him to be the gentleman Ryan is destined to be.

When i saw his fighting spirit, I know that he will do well in life. It doesn't matter if he is not an engineer, or a doctor or a pilot. But I know that he is destined to do great things. I saw that when he was born, and admitted in the ICU for 10 days. His doctor said he had a fighting spirit. I saw it then, i saw it now. And I will keep reminding him, when he forgets, that nothing, absolutely nothing can stop him from doing GREAT things. To Him be all glory!

AVATAR - Love,Action,Colour all in Titanic proportions

So forgive me, if i'm in love with an golden-eyed blue alien(read:NOT ah lian) hot amazonian babe. I know how Cpt Kirk felt when he mating with aliens. The last time i fell for an amazonian woman was Wonder Woman. Hollywood is still looking for a star that can fill those big shoes.
But it's not the physical aspect that i love. It's how her protective motherly instincts kick in, together with killer instincts that seemed to blend together well. Love, courage, filial piety, passion, anger, calmness and most of all, a woman of wisdom were qualities Neytiri exihibited. These are the epitomes of a woman men will die for...these are the things i fell for.
As for the film, it borders on Bollywood proportions, as it inched towards 2 hours 43 mins of timeline, enough to get one bored. But the action, colour, the visual circus kept me going, even asking for me. As it was in 3D, half the time i was trying to grab Neytiri.I could almost touch and feel her :)
This is definitely Oscar material, gunning for the best film and best director. And why not especially if Cameron took 14 years to make this,he truly deserves it. Of course the story is closely related to the fracas of the Iraq war, and the global deterioration, and the greed of the human race, but it's a good reminder.
I am just wondering how more real it can get, with the technology being improved even further. I will watch again, and I'm giving full marks for this.
5* - Excellent cast,story..and everything about the movie
Cast:Sam Worthington,Zoe Saldana,Sigourney Weaver,Stephen Lang

eLearnForex

Lauching soon 1st week of December 2009, I am definitely looking forward the StayHomeMillionairesClub new e-learning programme, Forex trading.

Look through the papers today and you will see at least 3 ads for Forex trading, and the venues are filled to brim.Nothwithstanding the fact that these guys have made their mark in the forex trade, it's also very expensive, and it starts from $3500 to about $10,000, for a 3-day programme. I don't know about you, but 3 days is so much to cramp your brain with stuff.

Even with self made proprietary tools, one cannot guarantee a grand success after the 3 day programme. What if you have videos(70 of them actually) that guides you through at your own time, in fact you have 6 months to learn them? And a dedicated daily reports plus weekly seminars with the gurus on Forex? All these at a low low price of US$998!and just by recommending one person you get US$900 as commission. That's the business proposition SHMC offers to its candidates. There is NO such programme out there that offers this to people who wants to learn Forex.PLus you get 6 months FREE internet marketing learning programme, so that's a big plus!

It's coming soon so watch for this space.

Movie Review: 2012

It's just another impending disaster movie, and if you have seen one, you have seen them all. Still, this movie has its moments, thou i wouldn't say it's making waves.
Watch it for the graphics, I give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars

WHich Fish are you?

As I was travelling on the road yesterday, i noticed a truck that was carrying fishes in a plastic container.

I then noticed that they were ornamental fishes. Fishes can go at prices that goes in the thousands. So I asked myself, what is it that makes it so special?what makes them so expensive?

I can say it's the colours perhaps.

But guppies have nice colours too. And literally, they are a dime a dozen.

I realised then, that like fishes, we all have different values put on us. Maybe it's how people look at us..

Some of us are ornamemental fishes-not much to do except look pretty.

Some of us are like guppies...Good to look at but really, not much value

Some of us are like Salmon- Always fighting upstream just to survive

Some of us are like the Tenggiri fish- Born to be food for others

Then some are like Sharks, no need to explain that.

But in every fish species, we are bound to be one of them.

So the next time you go to an aquarium, take a nice close look and see, which fish is YOU?

Movie Review: Inglorious Basterds

Another Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece! Gripping from the start, it may not be an action packed movie, but it still has its moments. The character that stands out from the start is the villain jew Hunter, Landa, with his wry clever dialogue delivery, and an excellent protrayal that earned him an award.

The movie centers around a gaggle of Nazi hunters, bent on terrorising the German soldiers by scalping them, leaving one survivor to tell the ordeal, and another interwoven story of a Jewish cinema proprietress, who schemes to kill the entire Nazi soldiers, including Hitler on an opening night.

This has Tarantino written all over, and it's a cleverly written fictional story.

I give it 4.5 out of 5*

Cast:Brad Pitt,Christoph Waltz,Dianne Kruger,Melanie Laurent
